Terry Stone Voted Chairman of the BPIA Biostimulant Integration Committee

DAVIS, CA. (May 18, 2017)—Terry Stone, Agrinos vice president of regulatory and sustainability, has been voted chairman of the Biostimulant Integration Committee for the Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA), a trade group that promotes the responsible development of safe and effective biological products for agriculture and other sectors.

"We are thrilled to have Terry chair our new Biostimulants Integration Committee," said Keith Jones, executive director of the BPIA. "This is an important transition for BPIA, and we are fortunate to have such a capable leader guiding the efforts."

Formerly known as the BioPesticide Industry Alliance, BPIA announced their name change in February. The group will now expand its focus to a wider range of science-based biological products that create value in North America and around the world, with the notable inclusion of biostimulants.

“I’m pleased to serve as the Biostimulant Integration Committee chair and look forward to fostering knowledge and adoption of this important category of agricultural inputs,” Stone said. “Biostimulants can play an instrumental role in plant health and nutrition, thereby furthering the ability of growers to produce high quality crops in a sustainable manner.”

Stone plays a key role at Agrinos and directs all regulatory affairs initiatives, working closely with regulatory agencies on a global level. He also leads the development of Agrinos’ sustainability programs, partnering with customers, NGOs and other industry organizations to demonstrate and quantify the value of Agrinos products as an important part of public and private sustainability programs. He brings more than 30 years of experience in plant biotechnology, regulatory affairs and sustainable agriculture to his position with Agrinos.
